on all things good

Check out Matt & Kate's Hundred Days blog, updated daily for the first 100 days of
Obama's reign, featuring 'irrelevant but awesome' words.

They're also hosting a Miracle Fruit party this weekend, and I can wait to check out
this fab hot party trend.

my fave

il mago

If there's ever a barometer for a player's success with the Toronto Raptors, it's the fan
crew in the Sprite Zone who give away 1 (one) authentic jersey to an especially enthusiastic
fan every game. (Truth be told, in the dozen or so games I've spent in the Zone in the past
year, I've only seen a fan get the jersey ONCE...but some of us like to concentrate on the
game, sometimes).

Bargnani #7 jerseys have been the conspicuous choice for them to give
away all season-perhaps being something to do with his earlier season foibles and fallout
of fan favour?

BUT, Bargs has had a solid run as of late, and at the most recent game
I attended, a Parker jersey was given away...but shouldn't they really be handing out O'Neal
ones by the case, at this point?

within me a lunatic sings

Yesterday? Fairly memorable for the acquisition of:

1) a new nephew
2) a new US President

I feel justified in any exhibited sappyness/hypersentimentality.

I consider myself to be a realistic optimist, but sometimes it seems like the city is really
going into the shitter, y'know?

Chuckers

Is back in town tonight, with TSN2 and Rogers still acting silly, I'll be listening to the Swirsk call the game on Chicago's ESPN1000 radio, via nba.com!

battlestar

JANUARY is winter-hibernation-catch-up-on-TV-shows time, and this month (largely because it was available at Queen Video) I'm going with Battlestar Galactica, which I can confirm the friend-hype to be well deserved!

swirsk is out, smith is in

Minor changes to the blog list today, with Chuck Swirsky's 'blog' link getting the boot in favour of my ongoing obsession of a year+, Doug Smith's Raptors/basketball blog in the Toronto Star.

Smith recently won the paper's Mary Deanne Shears Award celebrating excellence in reporting, and it's well deserved given his embrace of the new paradigm on online coverage-if only other certain grizzly sports reporters had such an attitude. And don't get me wrong I still like the Swirsk, but audio/video blogs don't really cut it for me ATM.

Oh and Delfino might be back soon, hence the picture. Exciting!
