On Berlin (again)

How's this for a first day impression?

All in all it's just...hey there's no bricks!

On Berlin

Abridged Seminal Moments:

- stumbling upon Bertlin’s version of Extermination Night
- Canadian acts Caribou, Stars, Malajube, Luke Doucet and Gentleman Reg wowing the crowds
- Kreuzberg – an absolutely incredible neighbourhood I need to see more of next time
- A relaxed attitude on everything
- Table tennis bar Dr Pong, specifically when a particularly large crowd was surrounding the table, and ‘No Cars Go’ was playing loudly in the background
- a rousing of Born In The USA karoake version by the locals

I’d like to write more but I’m frankly a little exhausted still.

Berlin (eins)

Berlin, a city absolutely loaded with history, has established itself as being doubly attractive in developing a world-famous arts and cultural scene, with Popkomm being a small yet significant part of things.

The New Pollution is in fact the only accredited Canadian publication web, print, or otherwise, at Popkomm this year, so keep an eye out for reports back in next month's issue.

Last night included sets by the legendary Billy Bragg, as well as German upstarts Fotos and The Robocop Kraus. A thundering barnstorming set by Toronto´s own Die Mannequin was the surprise highlight though.

an absolutely stacked bill is tonight including Caribou, Stars, The Go Team!, Architecture in Helsinki, Malajube and more. pics and more to come...
