six feet under is dead to me. that is, I've caught up and it's finally over for me.

it's interesting that HBO's official synopsis of the series finale leaves out the now somewhat infamous closing sequence...was it the right fit to close the show? I think so. Melodramatic? Yes, but this was a show that spent so much time on the cold, unromantic nature of death that maybe it was okay to go out with some schmaltz. just as it's tough to end a feature, it must be really tough to end a series, and many favourites got it wrong over the years. I think alan ball got this one right.
